About EBWA
What is EBWA?
Enfield Bangladesh Welfare Association is a community charity based in Ponders End, Enfield. We work to relieve economic deprivation and social isolation among the Bangladeshi community and the wider community in the borough, particularly older people, those out of work, and young people. We are a registered charity, number 1055430.
How long has EBWA been running?
EBWA has been serving the Enfield community since 1996. Over that time we have grown from a small organisation to now providing the range of programmes and community events that we run today. You can read more about our history on our Our Journey page.
Membership
Who can become a member?
Membership is open to anyone who is aged 18 or over, is of Bangladeshi origin, and lives or works in the London Borough of Enfield. These requirements come from our constitution.
Our services
What activities do you run?
Our main programmes are weekend Arabic and Bengali schools, a drop-in and exercise session for older people, employability and childcare training for women, free advice and translation, health awareness activities, and a youth education project. Details of each are on our What We Do page, and past and upcoming sessions appear on our Events page.
Do you offer help with letters and forms?
